Holding Forth The Word Of Life; Philippians 2:16
We affirm the Bible as the divinely inspired
Word of God. The Word of God is fully trustworthy and authoritative as the basis
for our beliefs, faith and practice. We are completely devoted to the rapid
spread of the gospel for the purpose of personal eternal salvation through faith
in the divine Lord Jesus Christ by the grace of God and through the power of the
Holy Spirit. |
Hazara Herald began not as a ministry but as a mouthpiece for Christian
Workers, seeking to serve the cause of Christ in Afghanistan. The first
publication of Hazara Herald was printed in 1989 by an anonymous editor.
The intent was to draw Christians into an awareness and involvement with Jesus'
work among the Hazara, Afghans throughout the world.
As the editor and his family continued their work among Hazaras, God revealed a
rich heritage of generations of Christian workers who had encountered and led
Hazaras to faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Those early Hazara
Heralds, told the story of God's work and those periodic bulletins were an
instrument that led to days of prayer and fasting for the Hazaras, Hazara
ministry teams being formed, and amazing answers to the prayers.
One of the results of this Hazara Herald movement was the formation of a
Gospel, Christian Radio broadcast from New Delhi, India into
the mountains of Afghanistan. The story begins with 3 failed attempts to begin
the broadcast - each team was persecuted or threatened at gun point by Islamic
fundamentalists opposed to the radio work. God opened the door when Hussain
Andaryas and his future wife were miraculous introduced and within three days of
meeting were married. Soon thereafter the very first Hazara language Christian
broadcasts and Hazara language gospel materials were developed by the ministry
of Mr. and Mrs. Andaryas.
Later, in early 1999 when Hussain Andaryas and his family were detained and
scheduled for extradition from India into the hands of the Taliban, emergency
actions were taken by the faithful supporters of the work among Hazaras.
Churches and scattered believers began to pray and seek God's face. The result
was the formation of Hazara Herald Ministries, Inc. The new non-profit enabled
Christians to partner with Hussain and his family of four to move from New
Delhi, to North America in order to rapidly expand and multiply the ministry to
Hazaras.
Hazara Herald conducts no massive giving campaigns but relies upon faithful
followers of Christ to feel the burden to provide the support that enables the
gospel to be rapidly spread among Hazaras, other Afghans and many other muslim
groups. Thank the Lord for his faithfullness in building His kingdom through
this small but significant effort.
